Your Say - My Say

Theatre and Drama

I am a long standing theatre aficionado and have been a keen follower of and participator in Amateur Dramatics. Bristol is a great city for theatre. We have the established theatres such as the The Bristol Old Vic and The Hippodrome and of course over in Bath we have the Theatre Royal.. We also have a large collection of new theatres springing up throughout the city. These include The Tobacco Factory, The Redgrave Theatre and The Wardrobe Theatre.

I have booked to go and see the Russian State Ballet of Siberia who are performing Swan Lake at the Hippodrome in Bristol in January 2017. It amazes me that the Hippodrome does not have a website that gives any information on what's showing there or indeed enables you to book tickets. There are a number of services now that enable theatre companies to create such a site, one being http://amdramwebsite.co.uk which can create a site which enable ticket purchasing and a what's on guide.

I think it may be about time I went up to London to watch a show there. This is something I like to do regularly, but not often (not often enough anyway). I have seen a review of Harold Pinters "No Mans Land" which is on at the Wyndham's Theatre which looks very interesting. This may well just be the play that entices me up to London again.
